I have tried to do 9 fights in 1video. But later on., It's start to get stuck at something. I have a blast animating these, And I learn a lot of thing from it. I'm aware of any CnC that is going to be put down below this post. I myslef can point out most of them. It's take a very long time to finish one fight. I've tried to figur out the best way to go with. I started animating since october. At the end I started to realize how Vcamming can give me a massive advantages. So if anyone can guide me with It. I'm happy to take. http://www.fastswf.com/fw9RI9Q This should be the intro. I tried rigging a little bit, and It's work as I expected. Really good one. http://www.fastswf.com/9GTiAVk So first fight with Drew. It's not the best one and It is the worst one because It's the first one I have start with. The fight at the beginning is not that bad Just a little bit stiff hit stun. But then on bashing It's just so silly. Sword's animation just.... I don't know how to pronoun. But If you have any tip with how to properly animate Hit animation, let me know. http://www.fastswf.com/1qMLmiI Second Fight with Kaneko. The first pace is pretty much the best animation I have executed, It's so well done and look like they have some sense of sword fighting. But then after the 2nd dash.... All fall apart. Hello my old friend from 1st animation. I think I need to improve my sprite. to make it more elaborate. http://www.fastswf.com/GlgtzKY Third animation is a piece of work. It maybe a little bit fast for you. But Just look at it, It could be my real style. When 2 Fighters need to prevent opponent attacks from touching them. Because 1Hit can put the fighter in a disadvantage. In this fight both Blez and me Have 1 HitPoint. You going to see parry after parry advancing and retreating. If anyone wonder why blez is not lose at that Yellow hit effect. Because she parry my rapier with her left hand. But she lose because retreat jump attack. So... quite a mess at start but satisfiy at the end. I think I did better at try to make weapon hit weapon more than hit perosn XD.
I like this! looks like a realistic sword fight, enjoyed the whole sequence very much. keep it up bruh~
I really love the flow of the sword! Really smooth. About rigging ; Honestly I feel like the rigging is too fast. Basically it's breathing movement with slow ease unless if you're in a panic.
Rigging is done well, however as far as I saw you're restricting yourself on basic up and down movements, try dabbling in with some really subtle skews to more left and right, also keep the rotations to a minimum, no-one actually really swings their sword around in idles, I mean, if your sword if loose like that you're probably not holding it right. Also, absolutely love the combos and the choreography, especially how you presented each movement with its own individual movements and poses that really add to the whole combo/movement. Moreover, on top of that it's pretty dope that you tried to definitely add alot of realistic elements in, so definitely got my attention. However, with that being said I feel because of that that it comes off as abit too forced, as in it feels like it's been extremely choreographed within each character or they've developed like super sense skills or something. If I were animating this, I feel I'd really mix up the fighting with some slight dodges that like evade and provide movement for the fight to make it more natural vs coercing and forcing the movement > that way because that's where they're really forcing the movement to go by. Also, as @NobleJuice said, try to cut down on the rotations again, as someone told me once, it looks like the sword swings are external to your character moves. Okay, just watched it again so try to make it like your fight animation with Drew. Up to you though, it's really great seeing this stuff! Keep it up.
Thanks for your attentions man, I'll load those up for some adjustment in the future. For now, I need to get myself some rest.
These are nicely done, but the last one especially caught my attention. I would love to see more of this natural fencing and parrying movements in your style, as it is very unique and beautiful to look at. Watch the amount of ground movement you're doing though - usage of space and environment is nice, but when your characters are sliding left and right like they're on ice, it can be a little disconcerting in contrast with the realism in your choreography lol Otherwise, great stuff man! Keep it up~
