It honestly feels like no one watches my animations if they're posed in the dumpster so I'm gonna gonna post them as threads and I don't mind cnc. So this is an audition for a contest hosted by McKayla55291 and DJSkittz. In this contest, I needed to make a video with their gbs and have them do something. I decided to have them beat the crap out of Danny from Cold Skin. The winners would then see their gbs react to their video. Even if I don't win, I did my best. And making this was a lot of fun. Enjoy.

    Enjoy this video.

Well, I mean, it's only been 1 day, and I thought you did the right thing about putting that in there since it was pretty short. Can't really control how many people view and whether people comment on them or not. I had a friend who posted a pretty cool anim but didn't get a single comment (lul kvn). Anyways,
    CnC and stuffs:
-The camera...is stiff. When moving the camera, it shouldn't have like a 4 frame tween, but rather ease in on what is happening. You should probably zoom out the camera a little bit too, and make it less jumpy. Looking at it, zooming out the camera could have easily solved some confusion at parts, like 0:05 or 0:10.
-At 0:09, he's just flying there o.o. Like tryna be a ballerina or something. Ought to having given Danny as different pose for that.

-This is more general, but when an object spins in the air, they don't stay put in air for that long. Try tossing a spinning ball in the air. It keeps spinning, and at the same time going up and down. In 0:02, Danny (I assume) is way too still in the air (and spinning for too long). Same for 0:12. That stick is spinning too much in the air and not moving. I think I see what you were going for but do give them minor movements, like slowly ascending then descending.
-The concept of sliding is to make the person's movement be halfed and slowly come to a stop. I kinda see guys tweened at 0 ease instead. Jacking up the ease to 100 would be better, or counting arrow key presses like 12-6-3-1 or 7-5-3-1 (move the character that many times per frame).
---The rest I'd say is personal preference, but it looks like the characters are being vaccumed to the ground, tone down the speed of everyone's descent, and throw in some hit effects from banned story, like from the Flash Punch Skill, or Somersault Kick, stuff like those hit effects. The sounds you went with started getting repetitive, try looking up sound kits on google or around the forum. They could be of some use c:

Welp, those are my thoughts. You MIGHT want to look around youtube for sprite fight scenes of sorts to get an idea of movement. What you had was kinda...well, rough. Keep practicing.

I spent longer than I should have typing this jesus. I don't want this post to be deleted along with this thread :C

Thanks for the Cnc Shulkle. It's appreciated. I'll wait some more the next time I put a short animation or a test in the dumpster. I never thought Sliding was all that important. What I used to do was that I would make a separate keyframe from where the camera ended before, and move i a bit away from the previous keyframe to make it seem like I eased. I've been having trouble with finding good battle effects. Are the ones on BannedStory the ones that Maple animators use in smash collabs and MRBs? I didn't really care much about the other problems before. I'll see what I can do.

Your pacing's good, but there's a lot to work on visually and auditorally. Aside from the physics and camera work Shulke already pointed out, both the choreography and sound design are extremely lacking in diversity and immersion. It gets repetitive and dull when characters consecutively punch in the same exact pose and manner as evident at 0:10. I recommend mixing up the combos and skills to carry out a more exciting, visually engaging fight scene.

There also simply needs to be a lot more sound - the scene feels empty and deprived as of now. Not only should the impacts vary in pitch and environmental effect, but also the atmosphere and different movements should be heard - things like jumping, swishes, slides, charging up an ability, etc. If you're struggling with obtaining or creating more sound effects, you may want to refer to the numerous sound packs in the resources section when you can, or record stuff from games you think will be useful.

    Hope this helps~

I actually have been lacking in sounds to use for battles. This was helpful. So thanks. Where is the resources section in MapleMation? I'm probably not looking hard enough. Sorry if I'm not.

There are resources everywhere in people's Signatures, like Ainn or Juan, or Soundkits and Effects like in Nak's information profile. You'll get more access to even more as you stick around here. Who knows, maybe a certain amount of posts may grant you to even more resources. :^)
