Yeah, sorry Blacksmith. Quantity =/= Quality. It doesn't even look like ice tbh. Looks like something that was painted blue. At least Seth has that reflection and refraction and a decent color palette going.
I missed your joyous words And those spontaneous edits Edit: I was using like.... Polar ice caps for references on how it would look so... Spoiler https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/145356918221701120/321794733087260673/arctic-ice-320771.png
I think I'm actually kinda on Blacksmith for this one, though both of you guys did a rather COOL job! B^) Blacksmith: You have a lot of pieces that range in quality, Though imo your 3rd and 5th seem very strong in the ice theme (and your 5th one is by far my favourite), The others aren't quite as strong since they do look a bit more like really shiny blue weapons, but your 5th one comes across as my personal favourite for 2 main reasons: 1. asymmetry and 2. complimentary colors. It's a literal iceberg sword, It looks to me like someone jammed a snowball in one side and a bunch of ice cubes in the other, and to me that is a really cool idea for a sword. Also having an orange handle with a blue sword really helps make the sword pop out, good use of complimentary colours! I feel like you do a nice job defining the various chunks of ice in the 3rd & 5th sword without making em too cluttered, and I really see the usability of these swords in maple story animations if ya just work em out a bit more. Seth: That's a pretty stellar looking shield! You got a good sense of shine and the design is really sleek and stylish without being too cluttered, Besides the light source issues that ya already know, It's a bit of a biased of mine but I'm not too big on front on symmetrical things, since it's a bit tougher to show the depth of what's popping out from the shield (aside from the ice on the top and bottom which I can see coming forward!), for me the ball in the center and the edges of the shield look a bit strange to me as in I don't know whether they're in front of or behind other parts of the shield, and I can't quite imagine how the shield would look from different angles. Though overall the design and style is nicely done.
Giving it to Seth for this one. While Blacksmith had more weapons, none of them had nearly the amount of ice properties as was done with Seth's shield. Plus, the design of the shield is multitudes more striking with the center eyepiece and crystals coming off the sides. Your weapons, Blacksmith, while shaded and colored properly, just seemed like jagged blue swords or hammers. Like Collin said, quantity =/= quality. I felt Seth made better use of his time and created a very well-done piece to show.
