This guy agreed to MBR with me when we were both on the edge of just jumping off a cliff due to midterms. He's the real MVP. Just a quick un-rust before diving head-on to the finisher of Gif Collab 3. (: Map Credits to Dal the Pal -sorry for the double extensions- ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ Shulkle's Animation: https://i.imgur.com/Gz1bxOm.gif Spoiler: Embed Shulkle's MBR Profile: http://maplemation.com/threads/shulkle-mbr-profile.32593 Shulkle's Notes: Spoiler It's definitely an honor to MBR against an Animation Team member. While we got some pretty busy af schedules, twas a nice experience.
Two absolutely amazing gifs from two outstanding animators. Congratulations on finishing these even though you two were busy with academic matters. I'm not one to CnC with extreme detail, yet I kept re-watching these for awhile before coming to my conclusion: Both battle animations were on-par with each other and that made it difficult for me to pick which one to vote for. So in the end, I voted for Shulkle because it felt easier for me to follow the animation with a more simplistic (but well-used) background and because of the variety that he put into AznMagix's character. Really got me on edge to see which of you two ends up on top. and whether shulkle will be getting his way into AT or not
Neither have enough memes, both should fail tbh. As Aran said, I honestly can't help but be amazed, that you guys managed to put out such amazing animations while having midterms. Towards the CnC, I' don't want to steal Aran's cnc, becuase he bassicly said everything I want to. But going a bit to , I feel like the after swings don't seem as fluid to me as in your ealier animations, maybe because they're longer Spoiler: Amount of frames Though your Jedi after-swings have the same amount of frames, so I've got no idea why it looks so odd for me. or they're longer than ealier, due to the connection of slashes, it's just something that bugs me. Spoiler: Same with the moon (Suddenly it's distance varies) Bringing up 's animation now, I honestly liked his movement more, it seemed more natural than his opponents, but I think the main factor that contributed to the fast pace, was the constant place change, no character was static for longer than two seconds. What made it tough to follow on the first watch. I don't want to blantly rip-off Aran with different words, so I'll leave it at that. I'll vote for , because I prefered his more cinematic approach and different camera shots, that were refreshing after seeing 's animation, which felt stale when you take out the amazing movement. I really hope you guys can re-mbr. I really want to see what amazing stuff you guys can put out when you've got enough time! Great stuff you both!
Voting for Bryant. Bryant's part had a much better sense of impact where each action had a reaction/opposite effect. (Like the struggle between the sword and the bow, followed by Bryant's knockback. As well as Bryant's contact with the ground/wall). The fight's change in location and the height differences was also a plus to it's depth and diversity in attacks (albeit short). The end of the animation's loop was also seamless which is what you should look for if you're going to make the animation loop. As for Shulkle, although most of the choreography was just a bunch of swinging and dodging -Which isn't inherently a bad thing- the parts where there was actual contact didn't seem like it had any real output to both characters. The distance you established when having them dodge attacks was the same as the distance when blocking one, which takes away from the fight's intensity. I didn't like how the motion was done by stapling two keyframes transitioned with a bunch of blur. The loop part also felt more like knitting two frames together rather than having the choreography recurrent. I suggest you cut down the after-images' duration and add more in-between poses for the mouvement to be clearer. Overall, both animations are good on their own accord but Bryant takes the cake for me. Good game regardless.
BRUH Lol in seriousness, this is a great MBR. I can't tell which one I like more. I love Shulk's for his cinematics and depth in map and I love Bry's for his fight choreography. > o< Too hard for me, but great MBR, you guys!! I can tell you both put a lot of effort and thought into it :')
