So, how am I doing in my animations now that I have the backgrounds and effects I have? Also, what else am I missing?
..........how bout you atleast post a link to your animations from the past, and your newest animations for everyone to see. I don't think anybody will bother to say anything if they're like 2-10 seconds long.
To be honest, and blunt for that matter, there wasn’t that much improvement. Don’t get me wrong, you improved, but not by that much. From what I saw from you, you added more inbetweens, aligned more, and actually have a bit of understanding on what GIMP is. Unfortunately, that’s hindered by the lack of understanding for pacing, sliding, squash n stretch, arcing, effect usages, and possibly more. (I only listed what I feel are the most important with what level you’re in.) Considering I’m also a GiF animator who ends up making 5-15 second stuff, I end up paying as close attention as I can to each and every single frame I make. Does the pacing look right? Is the character movements realistic enough? And I’d hope to god that “program limitations” isn’t a reason why. I feel like what you really need to do it study other animations, or since you’re animating in GIMP, check out a guy named Demonrawr. That man animated in GIMP, and in my opinion, one of the best GIf animators that existed at his time. Something I felt was missing in your GIF animations was the lack of basic understanding of movement. People don’t just stop dead in their tracks after an attack. A person shouldn’t stand still in mid air. Blending modes for the effects you have could seriously help make it more appealing. It’s only been a month, and you just started animating. I’m not saying that you didn’t improve, nor am I trying to put you down. No, I think you improved a lot since this was your first animating experience. But, you just need to be a stronger grasp in the general idea of the concepts within animating. At the stage you are in, try making more fluid movements, and I highly recommend using imgur as your GiF animation uploader, because every time you use YT for what you have, I did a little with how butt ugly the pixellation looks.
@Shulkle Well, I have the Imgur app on my phone, so me uploading the GIF animations will be a process for me. Also, I use an online converter for the animations, which explains the lack of quality in the videos.
Do you use your school laptop to animate? If you are able to animate using GIMP, you should also be able to upload your animations via imgur. It is not just a phone app, there's an online one too (Shulkle linked it).
To answer your question, yes. Also, I tried the link, and it was unresponsive, which is why I got the app.
Aw man, that's weird that Imgur doesn't work for you. Try http://cubeupload.com/ ? Easy interface, 5MB max file size upload, just copy the first link after you upload, paste it in here , and it should work. Spoiler: test x'D Try with one of your GIFs! If cubeupload doesn't work, try some other image hosting sites! https://www.lifewire.com/free-image-hosting-sites-3486329
