Plans for Maplemation in 2018?

Good day, folks. You’re probably not wondering what’s been going on with Maplemation over 2017. While this community absolutely can thrive quietly for the next decade and a half, you might be interested to know that we’re taking some bold new directions for 2018. Check them all out below:

Spoiler: A Revitalized Maple Simulator

Maple animations have hit a very rough snag with the disappearance of our beloved Bannedstory 4. If you haven’t been paying attention to the Maplemation Discord, The people at Maplestory.Design have made several back-to-back updates in response to the combined feedback of various Maple community branches. This means that the program would not only be up to par with its former inspiration, but perhaps even surpass it by delivering to meet the people’s demands. A few major eyecatchers to bring you up to speed include: explode layer, hue slider, multiple characters, and much more.

Spoiler: The Return of some Older Teams

The News Team has successfully withstood the test of time by persisting to exist without a single member occupying it! This begs the question…If News Team can still exist, why can’t Map Team or Comic Team come back?
Rejoice, you decrepit, esoteric hipsters! Applications for those two teams will be held in the Team Applications section.
Because neither team has a designated leader just yet, you will fill out this general form below if interested.

Form:

1. Tell us your biography. Who are you? How did you become active in this media? Why? When? Who taught you? Just tell us a little about yourself.
2. Tell us anything we need to know about your future behavior in the team. Why do you want this position? What are your plans to bring life to this team? How dedicated are you?
3. Convince us with your work. Post 3-10 pieces of your work. If you are skilled in multiple mediums, post as much variety as you can.
4. Do you have anything else to add?

Once a leader for a team is nominated, that leader also gains the rights to decide the guidelines and standards for their team!

To shed light on recent events, 2018 kicked off with three Staff well-aged members resigning after staying with us under an extensive tenure. For the veterans and even lurkers who’ve stayed with us for so long, we feel it is appropriate that we give you all a chance to contribute in reshaping the community your own way. With a newly refurbished Maple simulator on our hands, we’re bound to see new members and more MBRs. Whether we urgently need new staff or not, the Staff Tryouts will be reopened until February 7th, 2018.

Much like with the previous Staff Tryouts, we will contact you if you are considered. We may hire one, few, many, or none. Short responses or joke answers are discouraged as they will not tell us enough about you, while mature and lengthy forms are more likely to earn you approval.
