I'm gonna get the easy things out of the way first.

    For Trystin's part:
    1st: You've used sound.
2nd: You finish the fight with a good finish.
3rd: You gave some dialog for what's the reason of happening, and makes sense that they've planned a fight instead of randomly thinking of a issue that happened.

    For Mexo's part:
1st: I liked that you were trying to add some background to it, but it only made it look like there was a extra ground, which made shadow look like he was standing on something while sonic was looking up at him.
2nd: Adding a different scenery and giving broken wall pieces for how hard they were breaking the wall.

Trystin, when you made Mexo walk, don't speed up instantly for when he stops walking, it just looks bad. Give him a tweening ease to give him a slowdown when he stops walking. When they both were talking, it's good that you gave them movement so they wouldn't just stand there, but the dialog was too fast. Try some rigging out and facial expressions to add more to it! I do like the camera shakes when you start out with hard hits, but it's a little too slow. Sure it gives anticipation impact, but even it'll just feel boring at most. That Fireball throw from mexo was disgusting. It shouldn't be that slow, unless the character itself couldn't throw a fast hadoken like Dan Hibiki. However the fireball spam you did seemed normal for its speed. The jump spin wasn't fluent. Hitting him back into the fireball wasn't fluent. Don't always ease things and don't forget to use ease -100 for some situations. LAST but not least, I loved how you did that finish. Gives it that super hard impact, but don't make it last too long. and give it a strong effect for when Mexo gets shot up in the air for the continue hit.
    That is all.

    Now for Mexo's part

Boy, oh boy. I don't know what to say to this. I know you're a beginner n' all and there's always room to improve as a beginner.

Mexo, when you use a foreground for situations like that, make sure you zoom it small for the background use, and give it blur when that part of the background isn't use. You also made shadow stand there like a statue, even though he was in the same direction as sonic. Shouldn't shadow have noticed as well? When Shadow snaps his fingers, give some effect to push sonic back. It just looks really weird. I have noticed that you didn't use any hit effects at all. I'm not sure if it was a rush or you don't got any effects, but I feel like you really should've added them. Shadow doing that zoom at 6 seconds in is a old sprite animation technique. Give him some anticipation that he's gonna zoom and speed rush in. Give it some effects and blur. Cool that you made it run and break a wall with the white effect, but I should Mention. DON'T LEAVE THE BLACK LINE IN FOR THE FINISHED PRODUCT. I know I'm not the one to judge since I've done that a couple of times when I rush a animation, but it just makes it look like it's still in work. But what annoyed me the most is that you included the black line WITH the wall break. I know you did it on purpose because I can see it being tween'd. Lastly, work on some ground combos before you get to the air combos. Lastly, when shadow hits sonic to the ground, give it a camera shake so it has impact. Remember to add sound too.

I wish you both did use music for your parts so it doesn't leave me hearing sound effects (or nothing at all.)

I'm gonna give my vote for Trystin.

Continue to get better in the future, you two.

Both of you did a great job seriously.

Trystin: The problems I had is that you shouldn't let Mexo step a couple of inches when he is walking in. Also with the fireball, that was okay to me I don't care. Just when you're parrying. I think you should've made it a bit faster. Also your finish is great, good impact. Your combos was decent, next time try make the combat a bit faster.

Mexo: I don't know what's going on but I think it would've been interesting if it had some audio in your part. I said before, you should've reanimated Shadow's run with Sonic before crashing into a cave I don't know. Another thing, don't ever put lines in your animation. If you're gonna do that, right click on your layer and convert it into a guide layer.

Trystin, you did your best. You improved a lot. Congrats man.

Not really much merit in redundancy but i'm too tired at the moment to bring anything new.

Voting for trystin because while his combat was slow and seemingly at a weirdly bad quality at times, as well as suffering from pose-to-pose syndrome (when you animate with too few inbetweens to make the animation smooth/convincing), he at least had believable combat with hit/sound effects and actually finished his work.

Mexo really could have put up a better fight, he has the skill to win, i just didn't see the effort on his part.
