I think I'm gonna withhold my vote on this one. I understand that we're at bronze, and not everything's gonna be a show-stopper, but both of these animation had little to offer, and fell flat in many aspects almost in an equal strength. One was not finished, and the other was finished so flaccid I actually began to search for a continuation. The Combat both needed work - Leon had better combat but the stop was so abrupt at the end; and it being almost like it was unfinished and made the choppiest end known to man. I appreciated Psy's attempt at a finished but it was poorly executed, and made an almost abrupt fade-away before the punch.

I can't decide who's is better; but I'm happy you turned yalls in and made the effort. Sorry.

Very hard choice for me here. I don't really have much to say that's particularly... positive. I'm walking away from this MBR feeling that there oughta have been more substance.

Even for something as quick as 15 seconds, you are relying mainly on your animation foundations to knock one out the park. I wouldn't attribute this to just "two bronzes so I know it's gonna be mid" since "bronze aminators" have produced content I liked more than some of the Silver or Golds.

What it ultimately boils down to is okay ideas but shoddy execution on two different parts. And when I can tell that more effort was put into just simply the idea stage without proper planning on the execution, then it shows. So-

PsyMatterTH. Your animation really moved like a slideshow to me. It's like watching a storyboard with only its keys still there. You didn't bother to ease the movements properly or add inbetweens to make these cuts less jarring. You also literally only used smears when attacking. Your physics were pretty umm... not there at all. No good arcs, no sliding, but a ton of exaggeration. Sound for your part was completely off by a metric mile. Instead of stacking sounds in trying to make these hits sound more balanced and consistent, you juat threw in whatever for the sake of variety. You're going in the right direction for this but... don't do that. You need to treat sound with care just as you do any other property of your animation. Create a baseline for what hits sound like that, then add properties on top of it. Blend them together afterwards. BAM. Instant better sounds. The finisher really culminated at the end that this part wasn't really as enjoyable as I became frustrsted with it. You're a talented animator so don't sell yourself short with how you present your executions. Usually I would have positives but for here, not much. Brush up on em.

Leon, couldn't get much behind your part either, sorry homie. I think yours was executed just sllightly better than PsyMatterTH's. It flows better from setpiece to setpiece. But just as PsyMatter, your physics seemed to be all over the place especially with the little air drag to the light pole you did. Not really much of a fan of a Sonic OC taking over after the literal first second. The point of the theme is a KIRBY fight. This just tells me that you aren't reliable in sticking to a single script and that you didn't have much ideas for your opponents. Lack of respect for the theme bogs this down a TON. But regardless, there was... little animation. Your sounds certainly sounded more coherent overall except the little voice clip. But it was just little advanced interactions besides "dude does a sequence alreasy in the spritesheet, plaster 90 million effects on it to make it look nice." People can see right through that. Pacing is better than PsyMatterTH's but not by much, there was a bit of hangtime after the uppercut and certainly after everyone's favorite dust effect.

Both finishers are really lacking here too. One is unfinished and one is a super flat dip to white. So like Miles, I will not be voting here. There was a lot for both animations that could have been great but it ultimately felt rushed, uninspired, and not executed to the mark that would make a clear winner for me. Sorry guys. I hope that doesn't come across as mean.

I vote for LeonProductions, I like flashy the animation Sprite and the way the fight starts, the angle and attack are excellent work in the fight.

For PsyMatter, the animation can be improved by giving the camera a little more shakes for each impact the Kirby character dealt to give it a more dynamic feel, along with adding afterimages for swings and attacks similar to the blue after image you are already using.

For Leon, I do like the camera shakes & flashes giving the attacks more impact, although the fade out makes the animation feel alot more incomplete. You could try to have it quickly fade to white and the camera zooms in as the two collide in attacks and it would feel a bit more "complete" imo.

Overall, I vote for Leon, as his camera and impact work feels alot more engaging than PsyMatter's camera work. Hope you two continue to strive to improve!

My vote goes to leon I like what he did with his combo and the effects. Psy Like Dally said eariler some camera shake would really spice up your animation. Also at 0:12 i think a fast blur effect would really help show that speed. the blur at 0:04 seem really unnecessary and jarring overall still fun to watch. good job you two ight ima head out cya later

Leon wins 3-0. This is a blacklisted theme (basically a 1v1/freestyle) so will only go for 15 points for the win.
    Leon 31 > 46 (+15)
I definitely recommend not doing themes like this and giving more time into working on your MBR's so it isn't rushed out like this since you both can do better for sure. Keep your heads up and keep at it!
