Kicking things off in the new MBR system! 2 Animators creating a fight of a never-ending loop! Who will win?! Vote on the thread by commenting below! We hope you enjoy this MBR!

    MBR: Shulkle Vs. Hunter
    Theme: 1v1
    Looped
Due Date: July 3rd (Extended up to 17th July)

    Shulkle
    Animation:

Notes: It's been a minute since I made something that wasn't a collab part. I tried some new things and overall, this was fun to make. I know Hunter struggled to finish, but regardless, thanks for accepting my MBR.

    Hunter
    Animation:

Notes: Was sick a few times during this MBR and gave animating with both FW and AE a shot after knowing someone has done it before... NEVER AGAIN. :[ Though even with all of the setbacks and the extensions, It was still fun playing around with both of the anim itself and AE. Thanks, Shulkle for the MBR! 8)

For those that want to see the anim itself before AE.

First off, congrats to both of you for doing a great new start to MBR's. I know Hunter has been through hell and back so good on you especially for pulling through.
Gonna get right to it, voting for Shulkle because the theme was loop and he did that expertly. I genuinely missed the first loop until the running sequence happened, it was like 34 seconds full of tightly paced combat and seamlessy transitions into the beginning again. Great fucking job.

For Hunter, I think with better flow and the lack of extenuating circumstances, you can definitely do a lot better, GC3 was a good showing of that so I'll just be talking about that. To fix up on your flow, try and remove as much filler inbetween actions as possible while still keeping clarity, that's all. Of course, a longer part would help too with a seamless transition. Nothing I don't think you can do next time though, regardless - great job.

    Tl;dr Voting Shulkle

Great job to both of you.
If I were to pick my favorite, it'd probably be Shulkle since his combat was a lot more interesting and more importantly, his loop was a lot more seamless than Hunter's was imo.
    Vote goes to Shulkle.

It's been a while since we have MBR but now is here and look awesome, The vote I choosing Shulkle, his animation last long, the speeding movement of two characters and the song during the fight is outstanding, @Hunter your animation are glorious as well fantastic views and fight style slow down and catch their strength and power are very stunning.

    Let's gooooo, it's been a minute.
Voting for Shulkle, his loop was seamless as mentioned before and I really enjoyed the choreography and pacing throughout the whole thing. Good to see you coming back with a banger.
Hunter, I can tell you wanted to do more with this but shit happens, the combat felt a bit too slow and basic compared to Shulkle's. With more time and practice I'm sure you'll be able to deliver more work akin to your GC3 finisher.

Thank you both for your efforts, this is a nice start for the new era of MBRs.

Awesome looping guys! If I had to vote for someone, I'm voting for Shulkle. I felt his animation was more smooth and action-packed and I felt that the looping was more natural, if you know what I mean by that.

Yo BOTH of you guys went off on this and I nearly screamed cuz this was AWESOME to watch. I didn't know who to vote for but I figured it out 20 minutes later... is Shulkle. His animation had A LOT of creativity playing with Hunter's cloth like that and that was legendary. Good job you two! I loved everything about this MBR!

Hecc yeah, great work to both of you on this!

I really loved Hunter's little details on his moving cape, along with the impacts being felt with some camera shake, although the fight itself is fairly simple.

As for Shulkle's animation, it definitely flows more that you don't notice the loop until the first few times, along with a lengthy, but enjoyable animation that kept you guessing what they'll for the first loop. Personally, the islands could've had a bit more blur to it to hide the pixel filter and they're fairly far so it would make sense.

It's a really hard vote, but I have to go with Shulkle, I overall enjoyed the overall animation that keeps me watching the loop again and again. Once again, excellent work you two and I hope you guys further improve upon this! <3

Damn, this animation really ignited a spark for my love of animation back in me. Great stuff!
I gotta say that Hunter's transition to Shulkle's part was a smooth and really neat detail. Was hoping maybe shulkle would do that and cut back to hunter's.
My vote's gotta go with Shulkle though, no need to explain as everyone above pretty much listed the reasons.

Two fantastic pieces of work here, boys.

Shulkle killed it with the FLASHiness of his animation; always loved your style. Sick combo's, constant action, legit had a huge smile on my face when i realized where the loop was and how CRISP it flowed. Very creative with the cape as well, on your Doctor Strange I see.

Hunter did a spectacular job with the GIFS. Animating in fireworks has always been something that requires a sh*t ton of patience so HUGE props. The cape movements, weapon swings, blurs and effects on point. With the given deadline(s) you put out some great work and you even factored in using AE, which was a GIFt in itself. However, I'm enjoying the look of the raw, as the lack of pauses makes it feel smoother and faster to me.

Way to kick off the new system with a big bang guys.
This time, Shulkle gets my vote! Flash wins yet again. gc4soontho

Yorr. Pretty tacky place, if you ask me.
    Hooooooo baby, what a battle!

Shulkle, for a loop that was very nice and lengthy, you really went all in with the meat & potatoes, you have combos on combos! Lots to take in with this high-octane animation, great job.

Hunter, you slick bastard, I'm a sucker for the little details like the micro movements on the heads and the cape flapping- paired with the deliberate pacing, it gives your animation a greater sense of weight. And for a first time compositing & editing with AE? H'aint bad.

I'm a little torn as to who I want to vote for, it's like choosing pizza or burrito; and my answer to those types of situations is "yes".
I'll abstain, you're both winners to me, as corny as that sounds.

With a 9-1 vote in favour of Shulkle, he gets the W. Good job to both participants though and I hope to see more from you both.
    Shulkle gets 5 MM points.
