Some assholes who joked about every religion and culture in a satiric way and provoked terror on themselves. They didn't stop after countless threats and people are now shocked that they got killed.
No, i never justify murder of any kind. There is just worse happening in this world to people who didn't provoke it like them. So why feel sorry for them to this level. Except if you were a hardcore fan of their comics and feel sad that they can't make more, if not, i don't have understanding for your sorrow.
