@hunter: no real differences in terms of how you use it. but it works differently in that you never really show anything on the stage normally (in here it's just so you can understand it). you just draw everything to a bitmap and show *that* bitmap instead
It’s the same concept, just two different analogies. It basically flattens everything on the stage into a bitmap and displays that in the SWF, rather than all the layers separately. Same output, different stuff going on in the background.
Yeah, in essence you no longer have to worry about effects that lag the Flash player, because you aren’t actually displaying the effect, you’re displaying a picture of it.
@hunter: i don't think most would use this. i can make it work because i know a bit of AS, but if you don't know anything at all, it's downright impossible to manage. like most other cool flash things lol
@aidan: once i figure out a better way to render separated elements, yeah. possibly even more things - i had some ideas for a fake motion blur kinda deal too
