Be nice, find people with similar interests, and talk with em! I never had a lot of friends in school, but the few I made (eventually) were always close and cool to hang with. You're not alone man :)
If you want to try your hand at rigging, try to animate a conversation between two people! Try to keep people moving at all times! Even if it means to have a character barely moving or making an idle stance. Could be fun.
