Hi Kim, just a question cause you love space so much - is space exploration really necessary? Would you prioritise space exploration over things needed to be done here on Earth if things were to happen? What's your view on space exploration generally? I'm kind of annoyed that we keep finding planets that are close to Earth but like what then? Is space just a plaything of ours that we pull out if we want more clicks?

PLS RESPOND

HI <3 Sorry, I've been playing a ton of Mabinogi lately so I've mostly been involved with the Mabi community and not much else. Yeah, space exploration is necessary af. Earth definitely won't last forever. One way or another, it'll be deemed uninhabitable in anywhere from some hundred years to some million years (if human beings are even around for so long), and we'll need another place to live.
SuperKimxD Mar 16, 2017 6:38 AM
The recent discovery of the three earth-sized planets in the habitable zone of the same star, 39 light years away, is important because there's so many earth-sized planets in that system AND it's relatively close. Granted, it would take thousands and thousands of years for us to travel 39 light years with our current technology.

But, if we were much faster, those planets in the Trappist system would be possible sanctuaries for humankind to migrate to. As technology improves, they become more of a possibility. For now, Mars is really the most plausible candidate for any space colonization.
SuperKimxD Mar 16, 2017 6:38 AM
Would I prioritize space exploration over things on Earth? I mean, probably, but it depends what. Prolonging Earth's lifespan is a good plan, but it inevitably won't be habitable forever. Given the current budget that NASA has, it's far more plausible to just keep trying to make Earth last longer than to desperately work on our ability to travel further and colonize other worlds.

Does that answer your questions?
