Miles: Fantastic rigging, as always. It really helped execute some interesting actions and moves. The speed of it during the fight really added onto its pizzazz. I especially liked 0:35-0:41; not only that, but there were a number of details in your rigged movements during that choreography that I had to slow the video down on YT in order to see. You don't HAVE to add details like that in such a short time frame, but it's little things like that which make it more appealing to me.
The choreography wasn't
perfect, persay. During this spin kick right here, the simple diagonal tween whilst Ike was being practically scraped along the ground just doesn't look right to me
RIP Joey snaked this one before I could finish this post, but oh well.
And tbh fam...
Spoiler
I know you have some blood effects in your Flash files somewhere. If I were you, I'd take a bitmap from one of those effects, and mask that on there, or even draw a bit of it. That'd look much better honestly.
As for your storyline: While it's totally normal to not have one, it looked like not much effort was put into it during the beginning and end mainly. I can let it slide though, since this animation was more combat-based to begin with. And aside from the mentioned issues, it did its job. Nice, man.
Ike: To begin, not sure how I feel about the first location being a room full of gradients rather than an actual location, or at least a pre-made map. Just doesn't make much sense to me, but that's my own taste. Other than that, you had a pretty decent reasoning behind your fight. And your ideas and flow held up pretty well from your previous animations. I like that little shell-combat you implement into your stuff, and it didn't disappoint here either.
One
gaping problem I saw was how this spear jump from on the ground into your hand in a matter of
1 or 2 frames.
Had to slow this down to 0.25 speed on YT to capture this
And how DID it even do that...? If your character has some kind of magnetic ability, then disregard what I said.
But that aside, you put up a pretty great fight. Slowly but surely, you're getting there (y)
It wasn't easy to choose, but my vote goes to Ike for this one.
Honestly, it makes me glad that MBRs are beginning to gain more relevancy lately, and ones that have substantial effort from each side, no less.
Great match, guys.
