Hey shulklerdoodles
You want a sprite cranberry-
Where is a good maps source since goates is kill?
Huh. I thought Goates (http://goates.sue.pw/)was still active, anyways.
There's still Kirimy maps that are still active, which are the first thing you see when you google search it. And then, there are also the map pieces/packs of sorts in our resource section (gotta have 15 posts) such as Kayas’s resource junkyard, and Maple Editor’s public. Those are what I tend to use, and I think they’ll suffice.
Dear Shankle,
What is your thought process when you're making a choreopgraphy/story for your animation?
So, when it comes to choreography in fights, or making some sort of story, I like to think about what I have on me right now. For instance, I know I got my sprite sheet, that’s the obvious bit. My fight could either be a simple bash, or, maybe use another character following a set theme. I’ll use my MBR vs. Min as an example. I ended up using Faith’s OC, simply because it looked cute, then started trying or orient my animation based off her abilities. Utilizing the character’s abilities is what helps any sort of animation. If there is none, go make on up judging by how they look. So, since the theme was fighting multiple, I had to think of how to make it a swarm of enemies of sorts, and I instantly thought about swarming the castle, which is where I brought in the Mushking Kingdom resources and used that. From there, it was just a matter of trying to utilize what I have. She’s got an umbrella, cool, I can jump on it and open it. This thought of, “utilizing OC’s abilities” is what helps fuel inspiration and ideas for animations. Even in the Homerun contest collab, I made my character use Monado arts in addition to the ice and fire gimmick, while having a weapon that transforms. That was really fun to do, and what helps give me ideas on what to animate in there. As for story, it’s a similar idea. Gather what you can about their personalities, and animate based on that. I think thumbnailing or sketching what you plan to do is a good idea to know how to pull off these scenes, and something I had to do quite often in my Graphic Design class. I hope this answers you question, I typed all this up in the bus, and I’ll look back again when I’m off class to make sure I’m not missing anything.
