Hey, I'm not really active on this forum but I recently saw this post and I'd like to add a suggestion?
See if you can use Paint.Net, GIMP or Photoshop, or even Mircrosoft Paint. Aseprite can be a bit complex for maple story sprites at times, it's graphic user interface can be a bit distracting. I don't want to impose anything but it can be difficult to use and you may have easier time with other softwares where the tools are more out in the open?
Asesprite wasn't the usual software spriters used and it can be difficult to start in that program in my opinion, especially if you haven't really sprited before, be it actually drawing your own custom poses or templates or "clothing your original character in an already made custom template."
.
Regardless, I'll dabble with Aseprite to see how to set it up if I can.
