What kind of collab is this?
We're making a community comic! The host (me bruh) will provide blank comic pages and carry out a standard story about an adventurer working his way towards glory. All interested participants can chip in their own panel to steer the story in their own direction and genre, challenging the host to adapt. This is a great way to practice your personalized art style in a casual environment and to get everyone's hands wet in the crucial art of storyboarding that befuddles even hardboiled animators.
We're drawing comic panels? I have no artistic ability...
This is a collab dedicated to artistic sense more so than ability. You can draw, sprite, or even assemble premade assets in your submissions. Anything cohesive is accepted! And if it isn't cohesive, feel free to request assistance in having your dream panel completed. It also goes without saying that you are totally allowed to resize your panels if you feel your submission is too small.
So I just stick to your story, right?
Wrong. What you submit is not obligated to be limited to the host's plot or even the laws of common sense. Contribute to the story however you feel, and it can always be pushed to a future page if it has too much trouble fitting in.
What am I allowed to post?
There are children viewing this collab happen LIVE. I'm giving you a lot of freedom in your self-expression, so I ask of you to post at your own discretion.
-Sexual imagery is strongly discouraged (Crude text jokes are fine)
-Violence is permitted. Ultra-violence is not. If your submission is reported, you will understand what the latter pertains to.
-If your panel lacks dialogue, be courteous enough to provide context in your thread as to what the panel entails. Beginners and veterans alike can fumble cohesion.
How do I join?
In [Three Word Story] tradition, we will be hosting and updating the collab regularly through thread posts. Nobody has a designated turn. Just jump in when you see a great opportunity. If you feel you have a really good idea, you can request to reserve a panel, but you must inform the host (me again bruh) of the plot so that he may continue onward without being stalled.
What if I don't want to make an MM account just to enter?
Easy! Just steal this idea for yourself and host your own! I promise no two stories will ever be the same.
When is the deadline to submit a part?
There is no deadline, but the host typically completes one panel per day, so if you do not submit a new panel in time, you can either scrap your entry or request it to be used in a future opportunity.
Anything else I should know?
DO NOT be discouraged by your quality! The host's quality will also vary so he will inspire you to not fear! The COLL4B is accessible to those of all skill levels and styles. It's for the sake of community fun and hopefully to distract people from the painful itch of upcoming collabs here and there.
