Mapleverse! A Maplemation universe with places and NPC characters that everyone uses in their story making. Maplemation will be a real place in the universe where people are free to use to play their story. We basically have been doing it but in Maplestory’s universe. People have been referring to places in the game like Kerning City etc. Maplemation has no defined place or defined ideas to make it a thing of our own.
The idea is simple. Have defined places, characters, and events.
- Defined places like where are we on the map? Political relations to the big countries?
- Defined elements: Power/magic source?
- Defined characters like HQ staff, merchants, villains, etc.
- Defined events are more complicated

- Things that have happened, like history, should explain the political relations and Maplemations culture.
- In the future when bigger events happen it should affect other people's stories.

People are free to make stories like fighting villains, or a slice of life in MM works too. Please know that it's not a Mapleseries idea. Videos are not meant to be in a consecutive order where it has to be picked up from the last (although the timeline should make sense). This setup allows makers to provide content in the same places along with the same events that have occurred. When the same places and characters appear in various people's works, you get a sense of feeling that it takes place in the same universe.
Basically:
When making your story, have it happen in defined places in the Mapleverse and interact with common “NPCs”. Refer to events that have happened in other people’s episodes. It can be subtle in dialogues or visible differences in the environment. It will be interesting to see how people can make crossovers as the story goes! I imagine something like e.g.:
Good crossover example: Basically having references from previous episodes.
Jaycie makes: “Teddy made a prank in Henesys in previous video”
Kayas makes: “Nina visits Henesys and a NPC tells her that someone made a prank and the village is now a mess.” = No bigger story involvement but easter egg that it refers to the same universe.
Best crossover: Event that intertwines. Requires good planning and recommended only to dedicated animators.
Jaycie makes: “Teddy steals a power gem and unknowingly sells it to a villain”.
Kayas makes: “Nina confronts this villain in later works where the villain explains he has big plans.”
Hatim makes: “Power gem reappears in X episode”.
Very bad crossover: Timeline doesn’t make sense.
X: “Kills the villain Robert.”
Y: “The villain Robert illogically reappears in later works.”
It’s also fun because collaborations and tournaments can be based on the events of the universe and vice versa.
We will also need map, art, sprite team to make some goodies for people to always use in these environment. Also a nice intro maybe @Animation-team?
But first, since this is going to represent the community it needs to be approved by authority. @Staff give the idea a thought?
