How did the other person ask her? Was it a public announcement that forced her hand to say yes? If so, it was a very common occurrence at my school for the girls to end up going with someone else and there may still be a possibility that she may change her mind. Though I wouldn't want to see you portrayed as the guy who stole the girl, it should be up to her who she decides to go with.

And my condolences that you weren't able to get to her first. I do hope you have another opportunity in the future and that it goes well.
