Hi all. I'm John. I like philosophy/ethics/morality topics. I don't watch anime but I like a pretty wide variety of manga as well as sci-fi and fantasy novels. And I like to laugh. I've been animating (using bannedstory and flash) for a few months now on Christian based themes. I look forward to chatting in Discord and the forums. Thanks for having me.
Ey, Welcome to Maplemation~ As far as I'm concerned, I think having a different religion is fine, just don't go forcing it on people. Hope to be of your acquaintance, and enjoy your stay!
Heh shulkle, forced Christianity in particular doesn't make much sense. It's like suggesting that I shouldn't force anyone to love their neighbor; it wouldn't work even if I tried but would it really be so bad if I did? Anyway, I've just had a look at the sprites page for a tutorial on making custom sprites (using bannedstory as the base resource). There's a list of tutorials but no descriptions next to them. I don't really want to click them at random. Would you mind pointing me in the right direction to something which is fairly specific about how to make custom sprites? In partcular, I've found blank body poses online, but I'm at a loss as to how to transfer the clothing over to them without a lot of work. I'm guessing I'll have to cut the clothing into pieces and then "sew" them back together into the new pose? I'm not so keen on that level of detailed pixel work, but if there's a relatively less time consuming way to do it then I'd like to know.
Welcome to Maplemation. also Code: 5. Do not respond to threads that are older than 30 days. This does not apply to sticky threads, MBR profiles, tutorials, or any other forums where the post-rate is relatively slow.
welcome. easy, you sprite them. i wish life was this easy. there's no "sewing" in maple spriting or just spriting generally however there's rigging if spriting customs is too much trouble for you rigging is basically you get all body parts you need separate and animate them.
Welcome to maplemation. The idea of religious animations has me a bit curious. can't wait to see what you make.
Hi FS. Thanks for your response. My goodness, you clothe each custom pose pixel by pixel? I have a new appreciation for pixel artists! I guess it's a worthy investment if you plan to use the same characters over and over again. Yes, I watched Derek's tutorials when I started learning. He mentioned rigging, but only to say, "you can do this". It was frustrating. -_- Anyway, I worked it out so yeah, I'm using rigs now.
Hey Kim. Thanks for the rec, but I'm not sure if the harem-childhood-promise theme is up my alley these days, and I don't like love triangles (I enjoyed Love Hina, though, cause even though there was a lot of temptation around, the mc was pretty convinced of what he wanted from the start). With no other contributing factors, criteria, or information to go on, I'd decide that 5 are more valuable than 1. Now, if the 1 was a close friend or romantic relation, and the 5 were scum bags of some sort, then the choice would become considerably more difficult. I've been over this one a few times before and there's a hundred different ways to play it depending on how many variables are added. And, thanks for the welcome. I also look forward to chatting with you. ^.^ We'll see... //Don't double post... lol - Taki
Huh, I suppose I'm the only one who appreciates the irony of being chided for double posting (?) while my philosophical single track answer (which, btw, is predicated on one or the other tracks being selected) gets suborned by a cutsie double track meme. adjective: edgy; 1. tense, nervous, or irritable. 2. at the forefront of a trend; experimental or avant-garde. I wonder which one you meant... ^.^
:^) You don't understand at allllllll <3 <3 <3 It's so much more than that, omg. here Sci-fi, morality, ethics, novels/manga... I do think it's up your alley. If you have 100 hours to spare.
Hola, welcome welcome :^] Oh man I'm very late to this post.. Anyways really hope you enjoy your stay with this "edgy" yet friendly community. We don't all bite , and I'm looking forward to your animations as well : ]
