@[1822:@Loofan] don't get me wrong he did fall through the map, but at the same time the game was created during the time 3d games were being perfected. matter of fact I can go futher to say that during that time the dreamcast, was for surpass it competitors during the time.

@[1822:@Loofan] which eventually led the creation of its better brother/sequal sonic adventure 2 which at the time they had, perfected the way the wanted sonic games to play in a 3D environment . in fact falling through the map is still a common thing in games today, As seen in multiple games from GTA, Smash Bros and etc. hell even first person shooters

Nah, I get that. Anyways, I don't think saying it was good enough for the time really does it justice. Don't get me wrong, I get all nostalgic for it myself but it just doesn't hold up.

This shows through when you look at the reviews from ports and stuff. It's level of gameplay is completely unacceptable. Yes, you fall through maps rarely on games made today but that's hardly a comparison when I can legit boot up SA1 right now and fall through the map multiple times just ildly playing. Sonic is just not a game that translates well to 3D.
