Burning determination

[INDENT][LEFT]While I have one person significant to me in my life that is within this kind of maple art creation community, they don't know that I'm here (yet). Actually, they're why I'm here, and it's not a very happy reason - but I'll explain why next. I have the software that I need and important resources such as tutorials and maps already provided to me. However, this person has many friends here, too, so if we find ourselves interacting, me seeming antisocial or not wanting to build ties isn't me being rude - It's me attempting to be removed and esoteric, and while I wish I didn't have to be, it's sadly a requirement.

TL;DR - I'm a stranger, but I won't be rude. I hope to stay that way.[/LEFT][/INDENT]

[INDENT][LEFT]Telling this story clearly while retaining anonymity is difficult. For months, a person very near to me supported me in wanting to get into this. I started, but barely, because I had my time divided up among many talents. Then, when they heard from me that I was actually starting out, they suddenly refused to support me in my endeavor. This person would be considered successful in a certain type of maple art creation, so their words impacted me a lot, and my reason for being here is part out of spite for their words, and part to reaffirm to myself to myself.

TL;DR - I'm on a mission to prove myself to one person - myself.

[INDENT][LEFT]After one year, or after significant milestone accomplishments, I (sadly) intend to leave this community just as suddenly as I came. My only reason for being here is personal fullfilment; I don't want recognition, I need it, my reason for being here is to determine my worth and ability. I can't wait to learn new things and meet new people, but just like everything else, this must eventually come to an end. I hope, by the end of one year, I've made connections, learned new things, proved myself, and proved others wrong.

TL;DR - After exactly one year, I'm going to leave, for better or for worse.

...Well that's a lot more descriptive than usual introductions, but hey, Welcome to Maplemation! I can't exactly relate with your reason for coming here, but y'know what, I sincerely hope that you've reach your objective. If you got any questions involving sprite animation and whatnot, we'll help give some sort of insight on how to better animations or any sort of work. While you're at it, you may as well check out our Discord server since it's fairly active. Anyways, enjoy your stay, even if it isn't permanent, Phreak!

I think you're overthinking this. Some of us just want to have fun with animation, or any "Maple Art Creation." When you think about it, all this about proving one's self about worth and so forth can be pretty damn stressful, especially when it comes to some field like this. It's easy to not meet the expectations that you set yourself to, and in some cases, you could just disappoint yourself if it doesn't go as planned. I support your passion, but I just want to say, don't push it too far. You could just end up feeling even worse if you force yourself into something like this, and in the end, go spiraling downwards. I'm pretty sad to hear you say that. I really hoped you'd join and stay since you're super determined, but it's fine! Try not to treat anyone too coldly and do take the time to enjoy your stay here too, we're all here for a good time so might as well do the same!

sidenote: I'm sorry about your situation, but I truly want you to just do this for the fun instead of forcing yourself just to prove something. Just like what Shulkle mentioned before, "You could just end up feeling even worse if you force yourself into something like this, and in the end, go spiraling downwards." this is all for fun and you won't have much of a good time if you force it :c.

Hey Welcome to MapleMation! I hope you enjoy your year hear as much as I enjoyed my first year in this community. I'm not on the MM discord but feel free to ask me or anyone else whos willing to help any questions. from my time here I can confirm that this community is really helpful in areas such as sprite development, and sprite animation (Hell just animation and art in general, there are so many talented people here its hard to put it in words). I know you said you'd only be here for a year. But please feel free to stay and improve as much as you can to reach YOUR TRUE POTTENTIAL! :blushplz:

Welcome! It's too bad that you won't stay forever, but that's your own decision to make, so I won't try to change your mind. I admire your determination and that your reason to improve is to fulfill yourself, not anyone else. I can relate to that, so hopefully we'll get along. Oh, don't get me wrong, I fully intend to enjoy my stay, and I'll be plenty friendly, but I have a very clear goal in mind to make it as far as I can within a year, and however far I get is going to be what I judge myself by. In other terms, I can't take the time to slow down and smell the roses yet; maybe some point after the one year mark.

Wow. What an intro. As the other mods have brought up, it's been a while since someone's had this bold and clear of an entrance :O

Honestly, self fulfillment is usually why everyone joins, but I'm sure over time if you hang with the right crowd of creative artists, you'll find another reason to stay or at least chill around every now and then. It's important to stay in contact with other creatives with as much passion as you, no matter what happens in life. Maybe you'll find them here. Maybe you won't. Who's to say lol
