Man, I was just about to make a thread for New Year resolutions too D: Oh well, I'll post what I have to say here:

I honestly failed most of my resolutions for 2017, but after studying up on building motivation and stronger habits, I managed to achieve 3 of them! I'm aiming to renew and work toward some of them again this year!
If you guys are also having a problem with failing resolutions every year, keep in mind that sometimes it's more about the journey than the destination. Even if your resolutions feel overwhelming or if you don't achieve them within a year, you should at least strive to make as much progress as possible.
I recommend making your goals specific and breaking them down into small habits so that you'll train your willpower like a muscle and develop a steady rate of progress over time. This is what I did the past year and the result has been my involvement in over 20 film projects, a recent festival award, 3 internships (2 of which I'm starting this coming January), and losing 15 pounds! :D
Without further ado, here are my resolutions for 2018. I'm keeping them smaller this time so I don't depress myself too lol
- Finish my part in Smash Wall Collab 2018 by animating for at least 4 hours a day 3x a week minimum.
- Continue daily focus meditations - 10 minutes in the morning, 10 at night.
- ACTUALLY be more active on MM again by posting and checking in on the forum for at least 30 minutes 3x a week.
- Finish 2 episodes of Soldiers of Scania by writing, animating, or editing the project for at least 5 hours a week.
- Build a stronger exercise habit by hitting the gym at least 4x a week for 30-45 minutes.
- Actually be more active on YouTube - 1 video per month minimum.
- Write and direct 2 independent short films. Spend at least 3 hours a week working or developing ideas on one.
- Fix my hygiene by going to bed early and waking up on time before class/work. No more consecutive all-nighters D:
- Try two new skills/hobbies this year. Spend 30 minutes a week on this.
- Finish 2 games in my Steam library, but no more than 4 hours a week on playing these.
Looking forward to hearing everyone else's reflections and resolutions!
