Presenting MapleStory: Design

Hello maplers!

I’m pleased to announce on behalf of Crrio, we’re officially launching our brand new MapleStory simulator, MapleStory: Design. The loss of BannedStory has affected maplers as well as animators across the globe, so we felt it was important to craft this service in it’s footsteps.

MapleStory: Design, is a new MapleStory simulator that allows you to truly unlock what it means to design the perfect character. Ever see an awesome cash equip in the Free Market but wasn’t sure if it’d match your character’s look? Now you can! Best part, MapleStory: Design is always updated to the latest Global version. As we are building the simulator for players and animators, I wanted to reach out to the MapleMation community to get your feedback during our development process.

It's gonna take awhile to bug test everything and get this anywhere close to as nice as an interface that BS had.

That being said we have tons of people doing their best to recreate what BS gave us; and that alone is motivation enough to work on this project. I have hope in you guys. :>

This is an amazing feat. Seeing as it is now, I can see this being even better than bannedstory in the future! I hope to see this project to it's end, Cheers!

We just released our first update, which includes some of the more requested features, lots of new features and improvements, and some bug fixes!

New Features

Sprite sheets are here! No matter if you’re in your undergarments or fully clothed in the latest cash items, you can now effortlessly download a sprite sheet of your character including all of it’s facial expressions. Please note: We are still working out some graphical issues with some poses.
Cash item and gender filtering has been implemented! You can now toggle displaying only Cash equips in addition to Male, Female, or Gender-less items, whether you’re just browsing for searching.
Hairs are now grouped together! Hovering over any hair will show all other color options, just like how Pink Bean chooses it’s sundae of the day.
We’ve now added a “remove all equips” button to Quick View to easily remove everything without having to bring back long NPC dialog flashbacks.
We have our new logo, which was designed by a very talented mapler!

Bug Fixes

Skin colors are now no longer lower-case, and all invalid options have been removed.
Invalid poses that resulted in broken characters have been removed.
Equipping any overall will now properly remove any top or bottom a character had equipped.

Literally saw this and within 2 seconds I clicked on the page without even reading the new features XD
BUT DAMN HAVE YOU SAVED MY LIFE (Was gonna save poses 1 by 1 and its so time consuming >.>. You are amazing dude! Keep up the work and I really love to see future additions!

We never intended for having to save poses individually, it was just that the functionality of creating sprite-sheets was rather complicated which is why it took us about a week to implement. Flash has a LOT of plugins or code examples that made it easier for BannedStory to accomplish that, for us, everything is coded from scratch so it's a biiiiiit more annoying.

But nevertheless, new features will continue to be released each week. Let us know if you have any other feature requests or feedback.

I kinda want an invisible skin tone or the ability to remove the naked body so I can get just clothes or hat, etc. if that's possible :o

We'll be adding proper layers to be able to "explode" the character and only show items, the body / head itself, etc hopefully very soon. We're finalizing some refactoring then this is the next goal!
